There’s a quiet kind of courage in beginning again.
Not the loud, fireworks kind, but the gentle, determined whisper that says: I’m still here. I still want this. I still can.
Maybe you had to pause. Life got in the way. Illness, doubt, caregiving, burnout, grief, distraction, whatever it was, you stepped away. And now you’re wondering if you’re “too late,” if the moment has passed, if you can still be who you once hoped to be.
Here’s the truth: you haven’t missed your chance.
The path is still here. So is your curiosity. So is your capacity to create, to build, to love, to change.
In fact, starting now might be richer than starting before. You carry more wisdom. More resilience. A deeper knowing of what matters.
Whatever it is, writing, painting, gardening, running for office, showing up more fully in your life, you don’t need permission or perfect timing.
You just need a beginning. And that can happen today.
So take the tiniest next step. Five minutes. One sentence. One brushstroke. A phone call. A walk. A notebook. A whisper to yourself: I’m ready.
You’re not starting over. You’re beginning again with everything you’ve learned and everything you still dream of.
And that is brave as hell.

Obsessed:
I am mildly obsessed with Fishwife Tuna. I know. Tuna is tuna. But it isn’t. It’s probably the packaging. As a graphic designer, I love a good package. Still, I also love the tuna. Have you had it? Our locally owned grocery store now has their products, and I’m so happy, but you can buy them online directly from them, too.
